Many of us find ourselves in stressful daily routines or affected by compounded years of trauma and stress, yet we still manage to move through the world. While we may have coped to survive, it is absolutely possible to regain your mental health and thrive in life instead. Whether you are experiencing mental health issues that are more recent or long-standing, there is hope.
How can you find a balanced state of mind and feel more at ease within yourself? Reflexology is a great tool to have! Providing stability in your mental health is one of the most impactful ways that Reflexology can change your life.
This is a non-invasive modality. This means that if you are not ready to talk about trauma, you don’t have to. There is no need to talk during your session to find success in releasing emotions and regaining clarity. Your body innately knows how to heal itself once its signals are uncrossed, and a healthy flow of energy is attained.
Reflexology can help to balance and restore your mental health, whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, etc. It helps your body come out of fight, flight, or freeze mode. When coupled with modalities of your choosing such as counseling, EMDR, Bowen therapy, myofascial release, massage, food therapies, etc., Reflexology can and has quickly enhanced and accelerated mental health wellness for individuals.
During a session, a few things happen. Your nervous system is sent signals to soothe and calm it. Your vagus nerve is worked with energetically to ensure that it is sending and receiving signals well. Energy blockages are moved through your body to restore flow and proper function. Inflammation is reduced, which may be causing nerve impingement or mood fluctuations.
We also know that your body and its internal organs store emotions according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. With this in mind, all parts of you are worked with energetically to help you release trapped emotions that may be impacting your mental health. Couple this with the work directly to calm your nervous system, and you have a recipe for success.
